Mike France: “Democrats Put Partisan Politics Ahead of the American People”

Congressional candidate Mike France condemned Washington Democrats for forcing a government shutdown, calling it a manufactured crisis driven by reckless partisanship at the expense of families, workers, and small businesses.

Mike France said, “As this government shutdown drags on, it’s become ever more clear how out of touch with everyday people Joe Courtney and the extremist Democrats in Washington are. With the government shutdown, our active duty military is working without pay, and federal programs for veterans, food assistance, rental assistance, flood insurance, and others will quickly run out of funds.” He continued, “On September 19th, Courtney had the opportunity to vote to fund the government and proactively chose not to. That’s shameful.”

France concluded, “At some point, Joe Courtney may choose the working men and women of Connecticut over blind loyalty to the extremists in his party, but evidently that isn’t happening today. Eastern Connecticut deserves a representative who will work to end wasteful spending, restore accountability, and keep our government functioning for the people—not play political games,” France said. “It’s time for a change.”
