Ledyard, CT – Mike France announced his candidacy for CT-2 on Thursday, August 7th, 2025. Since then, Republican leaders from towns across Connecticut’s 2nd Congressional District are rallying behind Navy veteran and former State Representative Mike France, giving his campaign for Congress a strong boost early in the race.

In announcing their endorsements, Republican Town Committee (RTC) Chairs pointed to France’s decades of service, his deep ties to Eastern Connecticut, and his record of standing up for taxpayers and common-sense policies.

“These endorsements send a clear message — Republicans across our district are united and ready to win,” France said. “From the shoreline to the Quiet Corner, our communities want a representative who will fight for lower taxes, secure borders, and an economy that works for working families. That’s exactly the kind of leadership I’ll bring to Washington.”

France said the growing support reflects frustration with the direction of the country under Joe Courtney and former President Biden.

“For years, Washington has ignored the struggles of Eastern Connecticut,” France continued. “Families are paying more for everything, yet Joe Courtney keeps voting for higher taxes and bigger government. It’s time for a representative who answers to the people here at home — not party leaders in Washington.”

Tom McNally, Chair of the Montville Republican Town Committee said:

“Mike France has served our country, our community, and our state and because of that, he truly understands Eastern Connecticut. Congressman Courtney just voted to raise our taxes by $2,900, and against enhanced support for immigration enforcement. It’s been almost 40 years since Courtney was first elected to office, and it’s clear he’s out of touch. Eastern Connecticut is ready for a new Congressman, and Mike France is the man for the job.”
